San Diego Self Storage Sponsors Bocce Ball Fundraiser in Del Mar

April 10, 2010 - PRLog -- San Diego, CA---- San Diego Self Storage (SDSS) organizational entity of Smart Self Storage of Solana Beach, was Major Sponsor of the 14th annual Del Mar Solana Beach Sunrise Rotary Turf Bocce Ball Family Day and Tournament, held at the Del Mar Horse Park on March 17, 2010.   The event which included silent auction, face painting, luncheon and Bocce Ball competition, raised over $37,000 to be shared by several beneficiaries:  The Community Resource Center, San Diego Advocates for Youth and a variety of additional community and international club projects.

Teams from Del Mar and Solana Beach competed against five teams from SDSS for the championship. According to Chris Wood, SDSS Area Manager, "Despite the inclement weather, our teams proved that bocce ball can be played in any weather!  The courts were sluggish and wet, but two of our teams made it to the second round.  Although we did not win, we took great pride in representing a company that truly believes in giving back to the community.”  Members of the SDSS team included Jim and Renae John, Tony and Jamie Carr, Chris and Jennifer Wood, David Osuna, Susan Coburn and Sandra Flores.
