Introducing the Accelerated English Language Program

New Hampton School is proud to announce the Accelerated English Language Program; the quintessential American experience offered to motivated international high school students.  This six-week education package balances academic rigor with summertime activity and cultural immersion.

International students are prepared to comprehend and speak American English through demanding classes and participatory experiences in a variety of artistic, athletic, and cultural activities. The multifaceted pedagogy aligns with New Hampton School teaching methods to reinforce language development while supporting total human development.  Students go beyond language learning to immersion in a new culture with new friends and the beautiful backdrop of summer in New England.

The program will be lead by David Bumstead, a TOEFL instructor at the University of Deusto, San Sebastian, Spain, and former Assistant Director at the Heathfield School in Ascot, UK. David earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and specializes in the teaching of English and History.  David began teaching with the British Council in Sudan and has also taught Spanish in the USA. He is an examiner and consultant for the University of Cambridge ESOL exams in Spain. After setting up and running 3 successful language schools, David now organizes the Erasmus exams, designs courses and teaches English for the University of Deusto in San Sebastian and on a Basque Government project. He is Local Co-ordinator for TESOL Spain, works as an official translator at the San Sebastian International Film Festival and lectures on Basque and Spanish History for the US Alumni Campus Abroad program.
