Follow on Google News | Huge Success For Scottish Asian Wedding ShowThird Annual Occasions Scottish Asian Wedding Show Brings In Big Numbers And Not A Runaway Bride In Sight
By: Oceanic Group Taking place on Sunday April 4th at the Radisson Hotel, Glasgow, scores of people from numerous ethnicities and cultures came along to enjoy not just the fine food samples on offer but the fashion shows, DJ’s, dance troupes and abundance of different stalls and booths, which sported some of the most ornate and intricate jewellery; fashion; make-up master classes and mehndi among many, many others. Amid the live entertainment on offer was Bollywood singer Nafis, who performed tracks from his debut album. Bollyfeat dance troupe and Nadmin Bollywood Dance similarly wowed the audience in small sets with their fantastic dance numbers during the all day event. Yet it was truly the fashion shows taking place throughout the day that really stole the show. Drawing in the crowds by showcasing beautiful occasion and bridal wear, boutiques from around the UK exhibited stunningly intricate designs and pieces from their current collections providing gorgeous silhouettes adorned with elegant jewels to inspire any soon-to-be bride or groom. This year, for the first time, awards were held to honour the very best in the Scottish Asian wedding markets. Atta Yaqub, model and star of hit film, Ae fond Kiss, presented the winners with their trophies. The full winners list is as follows; Best Venue Award: Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh Photographer Award: Afzal Nadeem (Impressions Photography, Glasgow) Make-up Artist Award: Farah Malik (Farah’s Hair & Beauty, Glasgow) Videographer Award: Graphic Digital, Glasgow Boutique Award: Anjalis Boutique, Glasgow Florist Award: Paradise of Flowers, Glasgow DJ Award: VIP Records, Edinburgh Caterer Award: Saffron Catering, Glasgow A spokesperson from Occasions magazine said on the day “Today was a huge success with just under 2000 people through the door making their way around the exhibitor’s stalls and booths. Everyone seems to have had a great day sampling the culinary delights on offer or having their mehndi done. The awards were a first for us but it was important to highlight some of the people and businesses who really stood in the wedding market this year, Western or Asian. We’ll be back next year and can only hope it goes as well and as smoothly as today.” Media enquiries: Kirsten Smith Event enquiries: Faiza Amjid Tel: 0141 420 1333 Email: publicrelations@ ENDS Notes to Editors 1.For further information on the Occasions Scottish Asian Wedding show visit: www.asianweddingshows.info 2.Creative Oceanic are part of the Oceanic Group www.oceanicgroup.co.uk # # # Umbrella Corporation for Oceanic entities: Oceanic Consulting, Creative Oceanic, Oceanic Media Consulting, Oceanic Recruitment, Oceanic Hair & Beauty End
