TUF board® DECK Receives Code Compliance Certification

March 31, 2010 - PRLog -- Lolita, Texas – World-Pak, a division of Inteplast Group, is proud to announce that their PVC plant has received Code Compliance Research Report (CCRR) Certification for TUF board® DECK synthetic wood boards.

TUF board® DECK is one of the highest quality and most innovative PVC building products to come to market in recent years.  The CCRR Certification (CCRR-0141), conducted by Architectural Testing, Inc., confirms that TUF board® DECK products are in compliance with the International Building Code and International Residential Code, and certified for use in residential and commercial construction. According to the report, TUF board® DECK is also equivalent to preservative-treated wood in resistance to weathering, termite attack, and fungus decay.

The product is also Class “A” Fire Spread Rated, as well as certified by California and San Diego County (the most stringent state and county certifications in the United States).

Development of this product represents the research and development efforts that characterize the World-Pak Division and Inteplast Group, according to Y.L. Chang, President of World-Pak. Compared to similar products, TUF board® DECK is proven to be 20% stiffer, as well as more scratch- and stain-resistant, offering a more attractive, durable and low-maintenance alternative to the traditional wood deck. To demonstrate its overall durability, Inteplast’s PVC plant developed a mock “foot” to pound the deck. During the testing phase, the deck boards were pounded 100,000 times, but sustained only minimal wear.

As a PVC plastic product, TUF board® DECK does not rot, crack or split and is resistant to fire, water, insects and weathering. It is recommended for use in exterior decks, balconies, porches, walkways, commercial recreation and marine applications.
