March 31, 2010 - PRLog -- Georgina Donovan a local Palmdale resident has had her dreams of becoming a published author realized. Her novel Reads like Murder – In Honolulu has been published by Dream Books LLC, a publishing company based in Palmdale. Her novel is available at the Barnes and Nobel in the Palmdale Marketplace, at any Barnes and Nobel store, and online at Amazon.com.
Reads Like Murder – In Honolulu is a murder mystery novel set in Honolulu, Hawaii. Haley Wyndham, a murder mystery bookstore owner, is thrown into her own murder mystery story. Teaming up with Honolulu Police (and a hunky cop in particular), Haley tries to solve the mystery before the mystery kills her and the ones she loves. “It really is a captivation story,” says Jacob Morris the owner of Dream Books LLC. “And there is an ending you will not expect!” Brande Waldron, a reviewer and blogger for The Book Junkie raves –” Reads Like Murder in Honolulu is an engrossing suspense thriller about Haley Wyndham who is just a bookstore owner who on her trip to Hawaii finds herself in some serious danger. Remarkably capturing Hawaii in all its essence, the dynamic chemistry between the characters, Georgia Donovan has created a truly mesmerizing adventure full of Hawaiian lore and beautiful imagery that had me craving to go back.”
Georgina Donovan struggled for years to turn her dream into a reality. Traveling as far as Hawaii for writing conferences, Georgina was as dedicated to getting her book published “the right way.” After suffering a blow to her dream when a publishing company, which was interested in her manuscript, policies got in the way and her agent decided that he wanted to get into a different business, she began to feel as though there was no chance for her to be published. She turned to a family friend who was starting up a publishing company. After reading her manuscript, the new company decided to publish her book. “I am very grateful to Dream Books LLC for taking me. They are a small publisher and I know how much of a risk it is to take on a new author,” says Georgina. “We were very happy to take on Georgina,” says Jacob Morris, “her book has brought lots of success to the company.”
Her book has also brought Georgina success as well. Her very first book signing in Palmdale sold out every copy the store had, some sixty books, in just over an hour and leaving a flood of people unable to purchase the book. Georgina’s book on Amazon.com has 4 ½ stars and numerous reviews. “It’s great, it really is,” says Georgina. “I didn’t expect the success online. Amazon.com places orders for blocks of books every few weeks and since the book has been in the store, Barnes and Nobel has sold out of the book every month."
To aspiring authors Georgina says, “Never stop writing and never give up your dream, you never know what might happen.”
Georgina’s second novel – Reads Like Murder In Kahala, is set to hit the market in the summer of 2010. “It’s currently being looked at by my publisher, and it picks up right where the first book leaves off.” Georgina and her publisher are planning additional signings for her first book, which is being re-released in April with an all-new interior design. “It really is great to have an author so close, you are able to plan things efficiently and make sure the author is happy with the results,” says Jacob, “she really is a talented writer.”
Reads Like Murder in Honolulu is available in any Barnes and Nobel store, Amazon.com, and available on Amazon Kindle.
