Summerton Joins Walker Racing For St Pete GP

Walker Racing and Jonathan Summerton have put together a last minute agreement for Jonathan to race in Indy Lights at the 2010 Indy Grand Prix at St. Petersburg this weekend.  This deal positions the team and Jonathan as a force to consider for all the other teams. In his first race in Indy Lights with a similar deal last year Jonathan took his car to a 2nd place in the first race and came from 16th to 4th in the second race.
The partnership came together thanks to Jonathan's sponsorship with Sim1GP.com, a high tech digital racing service that can simulate real life racing using tomorrow's technology. SiM1GP digital racing service prepares the driver for high speed wheel to wheel racing by helping develop quick reflexes, precision car control and decision making skills. In addition, it brings an awareness of the various parameters that can be altered to try improve the competitiveness of an open wheel racecar

On signing the agreement Jonathan said, "It has been a difficult time since October when I was the driver of choice for USF1, which fell apart due to loss of sponsors causing me to have to start trying to find sponsors again. I really appreciate Derrick Walker and Sim1GP for putting this race together. I would also like to thank my long time sponsors Tangled Spider web Design, Arai Helmets, Sparco race suits, Smart Race Paint and Andreoni.com cards. It will be great to get back in the car, and with a couple of practices at St. Pete we should soon be back in the action".

Walker Racing team owner Derrick Walker, “I am fortunate to have secured Jonathan’s services to drive for me again.  We have worked together before back in 2004 in the BMW Series so it’s good to be joining forces again to race at St. Petersburg.  Our program came together later than I would have liked, so having Jonathan available to us was a bonus”.
