March 20, 2010 - PRLog -- “The Italian Edge: Technology for Excellence” is a publication with the objective of presenting the success of Italian technology, to make better known the breadth of the innovation and research applications that have contributed to the development of the Italian industrial system. Everyone knows how important manufacturing is in Italy, but not everyone has had the opportunity to appreciate the role of its machine tools and manufacturing, which are at the forefront in the world.

The book is based on a complex outline of Italian companies representing excellence in their sectors, developed and realized by journalists of the principal Italian financial newspaper IlSole24Ore and edited by Novalab.

In this first edition of the publication, using some of the most famous Italian brands as a point of departure, one points out how many of them came about, on one hand, from the creativity and ingenuity of a strongly recognized artisan tradition, and from another, the availability of its mechanical industries which are amongst the most advance and adaptable. A reserved process to say the least, with which the presentation of the country’s excellence in the area of technology and its applications appear through connecting them with the successful final products associated to “Made in Italy” and how these are comprised in terms of said applied technology.

Through interviews, photographs and reports, small, medium and large companies are discovered which in a certain sense may have been “hidden” behind better known national brands, like so many of the companies of “Made in Italy”, ranging from industrial machinery and components and from chemical to electronics.

In future editions of the book, other sectors will be highlighted continuing with the valuable work of gathering material and company stories.

The book provides an illustrated presentation of the machinery and technology used to create highly recognized “Made in Italy” products for some of Italy’s most famous brands. By connecting Italy’s successful products with the machinery and technology that creates them, the ITC hopes to effectively demonstrate Italy’s technological excellence.

We believe that this editorial project will generate greater awareness of and interest, not only for individuals involved in manufacturing, who will certainly find extraordinary and multifaceted actual reality of Italy’s capabilities, but also to a wider public audience, who will certainly find here stories and examples which will allow them to better understand the productive structure of Italy and to appreciate all its qualities.
