devolo Launches New Generation Powerline: dLAN 500 Mbps at IPTV World Forum 2010

March 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Powerline networking specialist devolo will be exclusively previewing its latest dLAN product at the IPTV World Forum in National Hall, Olympia, London. The new generation dLAN 500 has transmission rates of 500Mbps and offers complete integration of the TR069 protocol on a three layer level.

With the growing trend in Europe for Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTx), which provides a bandwidth twice as big as VDSL, the devolo dLAN 500 offers an innovative solution through the advantages of devolo’s HomePlug technology.

Officially set to launch in September 2010, the devolo dLAN 500 is a simple and effective way to set up wireless LAN and offers a backbone for FTTx at home. The dLAN 500’s higher speed and longer range allow up to four HDTV channels to be transmitted simultaneously via the home network.

The dLAN 500 adapters are in compliance with the forthcoming international IEEE 1901 powerline standard, which guarantees a consistent high bandwidth over the entire network and is a standard that is compatible around the world. The latest dLAN product also features devolo’s unique powersave mode, which reduces power usage by up to 60% when not active, helping to lower household bills, while promoting a greener approach to IT.

devolo will also be showcasing the dLAN 200 AV Wireless N adapter, which provides a simple way to set up wireless LAN in the home, the dLAN 200 AV USB Extender and the dLAN TV Sat 1300-HD - the first dLAN set-top box to stream digital satellite television around the home, the dLAN 200 AVsmart+ and the ultra-compact dLAN 200 AVmini dLAN adapter, which measures only 29mm.  

dLAN 200 AV Wireless N
The dLAN 200 AV Wireless N features internal wireless LAN antennas enabling wireless LAN networks to be set up quickly and easily via existing electrical cables. The WiFi N standard ensures that the full dLAN bandwidth of 200 Mbps is used while three Ethernet sockets mean users can operate multiple network-compatible devices through a single dLAN adapter.

dLAN 200 AV USB
Featuring a USB port rather than an Ethernet interface, the dLAN 200 AV USB Extender enables USB devices such as printers, hard drives or webcams to be easily integrated into the dLAN home network, providing a quick and easy plug-and-play solution for home users.

dLAN TV Sat 1300-HD
The dLAN TV Sat 1300-HD brings together the advantages of HomePlug technology and satellite reception, providing a simple and convenient way to stream digital satellite television in HD quality over existing electrical cabling without the need for a coaxial line. The device can also be used as an EPG-supported video recorder while its HDMI interface and digital output ensure best-quality transmission.

dLAN 200 AVsmart+
The dLAN 200 AVsmart+ is the world’s first HomePlug adaptor with an inbuilt LCD status display to indicate network performance, connection quality, and the rate at which data is being streamed through the home.

dLAN 200 AVmini dLAN adapter
This ultra-compact adapter has a depth of only 29 mm and can be used anywhere in the home to extend the network.
