Count down has been started by LDA (london Development Agency) in the context of the upcoming 2012 Olympic Games hosted by the United Kingdom. This is largely evident from the latest moves of the agency such as making sure that the visitors were provided with the best possible services in London, in the days ahead up to and during the events.
It is quite refreshing to see LDA maintaining the view that the assistance as well as the welcome experienced by the people visiting the capital during times around the 2012 games would help in shaping their views regarding London, besides influencing their decision to make another visit to the city even after the conclusion of the event.
The LDA had assembled the organisations from across the capital last night to ponder over the future plans that could boost the image of London among the potential visitors to the spot from across the world, not only during the games but also after its conclusion. These regional bodies are expected to play a crucial role in the carrying out of these plans meticulously.
It has been decided that LDA would work with these associates over the next couple of years leading up to the London Olympics, to enhance the existing services and materialise a constant approach, beside sturdier working relationships. Discussions are also underway with business enhancement districts, local authorities, and transport and tourism bodies.
The campaign sparked off by the LDA has been supported by Car-Hire-UK, a car rental company operating in the United Kingdom. According to Michael Goodwin, the chief executive of the car hire firm that offers attractive vehicle rentals and exemplary customer service at both Heathrow and Gatwick airports in the capital city, this was quite a refreshing move, more like an introspection, which could reap rich dividents in the future, not only for the tourism sector of London, but also for the economy of the United Kingdom.
Goodwin added that the LDA move was all the more appealing since it coincides a survey result, which revealed that London was the least welcoming city in the United Kingdom; the relevant poll was carried out by Jurys Inn.
