Follow on Google News | Commissioner Singleton To Host Women’s ConferenceClayton County Board of Commissioner Sonna Singleton will host a young women’s empowerment conference on Saturday, March 27, 2010, targeting women between the ages of 18-35.
By: Commissioner Sonna Singleton The one day conference will feature four workshops, hosted by a series of professionals focusing on four key issues that greatly impact the success of single women today with children: • Health & Wellness • Personnel, Job & Interviewing Skills • Appropriate Dating As A Single Mom • Education • Parenting Panel Women’s advocate and motivator, Arndrea Waters-King, wife of Martin Luther King, III, will serve as the guest speaker for the opening session. Mrs. King is known for her non-profit organization work with agencies that focus on women’s issues. She has begun a non-profit organization that works to assist women in poverty both nationally and internationally. Early registrants for the event will receive gift certificates for free massages and make-overs. The afternoon will also provide women with the opportunity to network, obtain vital life-skill information and simply enjoy an afternoon with other women. “The empowerment forum will provide young single women of Clayton County with an opportunity to receive information that will assist them in improving their quality of life.
