Follow on Google News | Local Family Firm Welcomes Fourth Generation into the FoldLPG Home Heat introduces the Managing Directors son to the company, continuing to grow their family-run business.
By: LPG Home Heat James, the son of current Managing Director, Howard Illingworth, has recently joined the company, as a Business Development Manager. LPG Home Heat is the newest division of the Northern Energy family which has been heating the homes of rural communities in Northern England since 1932. Ralph Robinson, James’ great-grandfather, started the business based in the North Yorkshire village of Hampsthwaite, as a coal and milk transportation service for Dales farmers. Since then the company has grown to be one of the biggest independent suppliers of fuel in the North of England. James, 24, is the fourth generation of the family to work for the company which is a fantastic achievement and something that James is incredibly proud of. He said: “I am very excited about my role and feel incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to be involved in the development of LPG Home Heat.” Since LPG Home Heat’s launch last year, the Competition Commission ruled changes that have made it easier for existing LPG users to switch suppliers. These changes have been a great boost for the company as Howard explains: “There is now a lot of movement from one supplier to another and so far we have taken on over 200 new customers. We see this as a really big growth area for us, which is why it is so exiting for James. “The company’s growth also brings new jobs within Northern Energy Supplies – which is great news for the local community as a whole.” For many, entering into an established family run firm can be daunting but James is aided with over five years experience in engineering at Robinsons Mechanical and Electrical Ltd (part of the family group). Howard spoke of James’ new position in the company, he said: “Often in a family business it’s hard to come in and pick up where someone else has left off, as I know myself, so it’s really good that he can build up this new and very exciting part of the business.” James is certainly raring to go and clearly has imagination and faith in his team. He said: “I believe I have the drive and enthusiasm to make it succeed. There will be a lot of new challenges to face with the business, but nothing the team can’t handle. “We will stay true to the Northern Energy Supplies philosophy; to be competitively priced, provide quality, personal service, and, of course, do our best to keep our customers happy.” It seems that James has set the agenda and is determined to make LPG Home Heat enjoy the same success as Northern Energy. James said: “I feel incredibly proud to be working in the family firm. I have always had a great relationship with my dad and I’m sure I will continue to learn a lot from him.” James’ entrance in to the company brings a boost to the firm since the sad passing of former Managing Director and Howards father, John Illingworth, at the end of last year. -Ends- Notes to Editors • James Ilingworth has been appointed as the new Business Development Manager at LPG Home Heat • James is the fourth generation of the family to work for the firm • LPG Home Heat was launched last year and specialises in delivering domestic LPG • Alternative images are available and interviews can be arranged • Please contact Phoebe Findley, phoebe@rawcreativeltd.com or Lisa Conner, lisa.conner@ • www.lpghomeheat.co.uk # # # LPG Home Heat delivers LPG to people across the North of England, who trust in our reliable service.
