New Modern House on Cape Cod Wins Sub-Zero & Wolf Kitchen Design Award

PRLog (Press Release) - Mar. 5, 2010 - BOSTON, MA -- ZeroEnergy Design, the architecture firm that designed the Truro Residence, won a Regional Award in the prestigious 2008-09 Kitchen Design Contest (KDC) sponsored by appliance manufacturers Sub-Zero and Wolf.  The kitchen sourced custom cabinetry from Venegas and Company, incorporated lighting design from Light Th!s, and was built by Silvia & Silvia Custom Builders.

“We are thrilled and honored to have our work selected for this national competition,” said Stephanie Horowitz AIA, Managing Director of ZeroEnergy Design. “Our firm has pushed the envelope in modern design for our clients, and we will enthusiastically continue this effort.”

The award winning kitchen functions as the social epicenter of the living space in a modern, oceanfront home created for a large multigenerational family. The client couple specifically requested a professional-caliber workspace together with ecologically responsible implementation. The resulting design is a fantastic modern kitchen that captures the spectacular view, uses only sustainable materials, is powered by renewable energy, and thrills any chef preparing meals for the family.

The KDC is judged by a panel of seven industry professionals from across the country. There were more than 1,400 entries in the contest, which is held every two years. The grand prize – the Designer’s Choice Award - will be awarded at the end of March. Design professionals can rate their favorite designs out of the regional winners in an online voting system available at http://www.subzero.com/designerschoice.
