I have preached, posted, begged for pet owners to listen to this information.
Do NOT walk your dog on an extender leash near a road, if you must use those leashes, do NOT let it go out to its max. You can not predict what your dog is going to do.
Dogs are like young child no matter the age of the dog, they react without thinking. So YOU must think for them.
Last month it happened, a young lady was walking her dog with one of those extender leashes and the dog saw another dog across the street. That’s all it took, her dog darted off the sidewalk into the path of an oncoming car. Since the sidewalk was right next to the road, the leash allowed the dog to proceed, about 10 feet into the road.
RIP little doggy
Please, please, do NOT use the extender leash next to a road. Busy or not, save it for a park or open land.
