Mr. Robert Hernandez McDonald Jr. announces Candidacy for the Arizona State Senate

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb. 18, 2010 - Mesa, AZ October 28, 2009 -- Mr. Robert Hernandez McDonald Jr. has announced his candidacy to seek the Arizona State Senate seat currently held by incumbent Sen. Russell Pearce R-Mesa for Legislative District 18. Mr. McDonald is seeking the seat as the Democratic Candidate and hopes to bring a new direction for Arizona. Mr. McDonald has decided to challenge Sen. Pearce because of his stances on the budget, Illegal Immigration and how to deal with the overall issues of Arizona.
Mr. McDonald Supports:
Ø   To bring jobs into Arizona.
Ø   Tax Cuts for Small Businesses to spur job creation and new small business formation.
Ø   Fully funded Education- Charter and Public Schools, K-12; Secondary Education and Post Secondary Education.
Ø   Coming up with new ideas to fix our state’s budget issues
Ø   Fully fund our Public Safety infrastructure- Fire, Police and Corrections Departments.
Ø   Evaluation of Tax policies, tax credits, tax subsidies and tax abatements and the elimination of ineffective tax cuts that do not work.
Ø   Putting an end to the Partisan log jam that threatens Arizona’s growth, budget and economic health.
Ø   Freeze on property valuations for senior citizens.
Ø   Urging the Federal Government to step up on illegal immigration and fix the immigration system.
Mr. McDonald Opposes:

Ø   Privatized Prisons as an option for budgetary concerns.
Ø   Opposed to targeted corporate tax cuts and shifting taxing burden on homeowners.
Ø   Cuts to education, K-12 and Secondary Education.
Ø   Sale of wholly owned State properties for profit.
Ø   Excessive cuts to social services.
Ø   Partisan bickering and misrepresentation


We have seen the destructive policies of this Republican Leadership along with Sen. Russell Pearce, we have witnessed the most vulnerable among us being taken advantage of and harassed. This unacceptable and I pledge to end this.
