Toyota’s engineers developed and rigorously tested a solution to address the potential sticking accelerator pedals that is both effective and simple. A precision-cut steel reinforcement bar will be installed into the accelerator pedal assembly on affected vehicles, thereby eliminating the excess friction that caused pedals to stick in rare instances.

Certain 2009-2010 model RAV4, certain 2009-2010 Corolla, 2009-2010 Matrix, 2005-2010 Avalon, Certain 2007-2010 Camry, Certain 2010 Highlander, 2007-2010 Tundra & 2008-2010 Sequoia are the recalled vehicles.” replied Mr. Isip. “If you own a Toyota Camry, RAV4, Corolla or Highlander vehicle with Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) that begin with “J” these are NOT affected by the accelerator pedal recall.” Continued Mr. Isip, “If you are at all unsure if your Toyota is affected please call our special VIP Toyota Hotline set up exclusively for this purpose at 888-805-6888.
