8000inc will provide funding for training, support and equipment through the Amateur Athletics Association of Barbados (AAAB) to help its athletes realize their true potential and compete on the world stage. 8000inc will help with support for training the coaches to create a national model as well as provide equipment for the Kids Athletic Program and also assist the Association in travel to junior meets such as the Carifta Games. 8000inc has also agreed to develop and provide exclusive Barbados Team clothing and accessories for the athletes for when they are travelling to events around the world representing their country. The CEO of 8000inc believes that the development of the young athletes will ensure that the AAAB can compete and challenge on a fair playing field. The plans in place through the AAAB will allow the relatively small Nation of Barbados, create the infrastructure and standards for generations to come, and turn the abundant raw talent into world beaters. This is a long term and far reaching project and with the organization already in place, these plans will undoubtedly reap the rewards for the country, the athletes and athletics in general.
Thomas Kelly, CEO 8000inc said, “It is extremely important in today’s climate to give something back. The advances we have made in Barbados are significant and commercially valuable. This partnership will allow us to not only develop the 8000inc brand, but also the true potential of the young athletes striving towards the Olympics. Therefore once we were approached to see if we could add value and benefit to the efforts of the AAAB, we were delighted to explore the possibility. I was particularly happy when Barbados won its first international Gold medal in Berlin and decided to come on board after reading a comment made by a top USA coach Irving Schexnayder”
8000inc is working with the President Mrs. Esther Maynard and Treasurer Mr. Trevor Welch to fine tune the details of the support package which will be disclosed to the public at the Press Conference later this month. Mrs Maynard said, “This is an exciting and far reaching project, and one which will help our young athletes achieve their true potential. Partnering with 8000inc is the realisation of a many years work and I am extremely thankful for their support. More importantly we can now put our theory into practice and look forward to the continuation of the major steps we have already made in athletics.”
