Volvo S80 luxury sedan to be hole –in –one partner for Avantha Masters 2010

Feb. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- The European Tour will host the Avantha Masters from 11th-14th February, 2010 at the DLF Golf & Country Club, Gurgaon, Haryana, India.

Expressing his excitement on the tournament, Paul de Voijs, Managing Director, Volvo Auto India said,

Relishing the prospect of playing a European and Asian Tour co-sanctioned event on home turf, Avantha Masters 2010 will witness participation from several Indian players such as Jeev Milkha Singh, Jyoti Randhawa, SSP Chowrasia, Arjun Atwal, Ganganjeet Bhullar, C. Muniyappa and the likes. The strong line-up will also include international players such as Danny Lee, Richard Finch, Mark Brown, Chinese star Liang Wen-chong and Thai duo Thaworn Wiratchant and Chapchai Nirat.

Talking about golfing in India, Mr. de Voijs, further added, “Professional golf in India has taken an enormous leap forward in recent years witnessing some of the finest players from the country. This collaborative effort will, no doubt, establish India as a serious golfing destination in the international circuit.”

The event will be tri-sanctioned between the Asian Tour, the European Tour and the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). The Avantha Masters which has been confirmed for three years beginning 2010 will also be the first event in a new joint venture between Asian and European Tours to be known as EurAsia Golf Ltd.

The tournament will be extensively covered live on major sports channels in Asia and around the world including ESPN Star Sports in India, ASTROSPORT in Malaysia, Golf Channel in China, SKY in Germany, VIASAT Sports in Sweden and Golf Channel in USA amongst many others.

The Volvo brand and the game of golf are synonymous with each other.
