Feb. 3, 2010 - PRLog -- Tri-Rail, South Florida's premier commuter rail system, will be offering $5 round trip tickets to the Super Bowl XLIV at Dolphin Stadium in Miami.  Fans took advantage of this same deal last weekend for Pro Bowl 2010.  Outstanding reviews were received for the additional service, including special, late-night trains and shuttle buses.  Event goers taking the train to the game this weekend are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance, in order to avoid lines on game day. Fans save money in gas, tolls, and the very expensive game day parking.

Riders are able to board the train at any of Tri-Rail’s 18 conveniently located stations and enjoy a train ride to the Golden Glades Station.  From there, riders board a shuttle bus to arrive at the Wal-Mart bus drop-off and pick-up location directly across the street from Dolphin Stadium. Shuttle buses begin operating the loop between the train station and the bus drop-off and pick-up location at 1 p.m. The Super Bowl kick-off is scheduled for 6:28 p.m.  Buses will return to the station in time for passengers to catch the 8:48 p.m. northbound train or the 9:50 southbound train, should fans need to leave the game early. Special northbound and southbound trains will depart from the station approximately one-hour after the last play of the games, and an additional northbound train will depart the station one and a half hours after the final play.

Special advance-sale tickets, priced at $5 for adults and discounted at $2.50 for senior citizens 65 years and older, persons with disabilities, Medicare card holders, students and children ages five – 12 (discounted ticket-holders must show appropriate identification once onboard the train), are available now at www.tri-rail.com or at any of Tri-Rail’s Ticket Kiosk locations beginning December 14. Advance sales on the website will close one week prior to each game.  Tickets may also be purchased on the day of the game at ticket kiosks or from the ticket vending machines (tickets must be purchased at a station other than the Golden Glades Station). People taking the train to the game are encouraged to purchase their tickets in advance, in order to avoid long lines on game day.

“Tri-Rail is definitely one of the most convenient, stress-free ways to get to the Pro Bowl and Super Bowl,” said Director of Marketing Bonnie Arnold, South Florida Regional Transportation Authority/Tri-Rail.  “We recognize that these are two of the largest sporting events to be hosted in South Florida and we wanted to offer residents and visitors an alternative way to get to the games at an affordable price.”
