Sandhoff launched ParentYourParents.com after suddenly being thrust into a caregiver’s role. With no notice she found herself in a position of caring for her ill father long distance. Upon seeing him in the hospital and talking with his doctor’s, none of whom were optimistic, she started a caregiver’s journey that continues today. On the heels of the crisis with her father, her step-father had a setback with treatment for prostate Cancer and chose to stop all treatment. As her step-father’ By going through these life experiences, Sandhoff realized she was not alone in facing and dealing with aging parents’ health and livelihood. “Our parents not only look to us for help, but they see us as a resource and depend on us for guidance. That is why I decided to launch ParentYourParents.com,” # # # Amber Sandhoff had the idea to launch a website helping caregivers and seniors as a result of personal experiences. Three years ago she was unexpectedly thrust into a long distance caregiver role for her father who lived in another state. She was unable to find the help or information she was seeking online. Talking with her friends and family, listening to the news, hearing stories about the “sandwich generation”, and knowing others who were in a position similar to what she went through, she decided to do something.
