Jan. 25, 2010 - PRLog -- As with any Olympic snow sport, the sound of ringing cowbells will cheer on athletes during the On-Snow Demo/Free Ride Fest at the SnowSports Industries America (SIA) Snow Show, February 1st and 2nd at Winter Park Resort in Colorado. The show has moved to the mountains after 37 years in Las Vegas, and to celebrate, SIA organizers have ordered custom commemorative cowbells by Cowbell.com, distributor of fun and cowbells to sporting events, fundraisers and businesses.

In addition to SIA-logoed bells for race spectators, specially-engraved, gold-colored MOEN cowbells, which became very popular at the Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer, Nagano, Salt Lake, and Torino, will be awarded to the top three winners of each race.

The distinct MOEN bells are made of iron and coated with brass recycled from spent ammunition cartridges on Norwegian military practice ranges. Each bell hangs from a ribbon designed with 70 flags from around the world, making it a perfect and meaningful souvenir for winners, just days before the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver.

“Cowbells are synonymous with Nordic and Alpine racing, and we wanted to bring a European authenticity to our uphill/downhill randonee-type race,” said Dave Wray, Western Regional Manager for SnowSports Industry America. “We will achieve that with MOEN bells and custom promo bells from Cowbell.com. Elisabeth Halvorson has been fantastic to work with as we developed the plan for our first competitive race.”

Cowbell medals will go to the fastest overall individual finisher and top three teams in three categories of the uphill/downhill race. The On-Snow Demo/Free Ride Fest at the SIA Snow Show, held immediately after the SIA Show in Denver, is expected to bring more than 4,000 retail buyers and industry folks to the mountain for two days of parties, demos and its inaugural competition event.

Spectators will find Cowbell.com owner Elisabeth Halvorson and members of her team spreading cheer and, in the words of a popular Saturday Night Live skit, “more cowbell!” up and down the hill.

"Custom engraved MOEN Bells of Norway make excellent, usable trophies,” said Halvorson.   “Plus they are a "green" product... from bullets to bells!  Some think we just sell tons of cowbells, but what we really do is help create FUN events and memories."

Cowbell.com supplies race fans all over the country with collectible and promotional cowbells of all sizes and different styles. The company is the exclusive distributor of MOEN bells in North America.
