SEATTLE, Wash.—The Seattle Bash and Weight Loss Surgery Conference is proud to host Chef Dave at their 7th annual conference March 11-14, 2010. Chef Dave has received national recognition for sharing cooking tips, grocery shopping lists and recipes with post-op weight loss surgery patients.
A formally-trained culinary chef, Dave Fouts always loved food. His weight had climbed to nearly 400 lbs when he decided to get the gastric bypass in 2002. Over 200 pounds lighter, he now helps other post-op patients enjoy food, but in a different way and with a different lifestyle.
“When an obese person makes the difficult decision to have bariatric surgery, there is usually a misconception that food will no longer be enjoyable. This could not be farther from the truth!” Instead, says Fouts, a weight loss surgery patient eats the best and healthiest foods, in moderation.
An author, editorial contributor for several publications, and national speaker, Fouts feels honored to have an active role in helping others. “By sharing my experiences as both a patient and a chef, I am able to place my handprint on patients’ lives.” Fouts also spends his time advising Fortune 500 companies on food and product development.
