Jan. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- Ft Lauderdale, Fla. - VentNation.com, a new, growing social networking website based in Ft.Lauderdale, announced that it will commit half of its February revenue to help Haiti earthquake relief efforts. The company uses ad revenue as its income source, and feels that this is the least it could do to help the Haitian people, many of whom were displaced after the earthquake and lost their loved ones. An estimated 200,000 people lost their lives because of the earthquake, and the island suffered catastrophic damage.

"Being from South Florida, where [there is] a large Haitian population, it is VentNation's duty as a South Floridian company to help our community," said Alex Berhane, VentNation CEO. "Seeing the images on TV of the island, it's just such a dire situation. That is why we want to donate half of our revenue to earthquake relief efforts...though it may not be a large sum of money, but anything we can do to help, we will. And the main purpose is to inspire others to do the same."

VentNation.com will donate 50 percent of the revenue it earns from users that support company sponsors to Haitian relief efforts. The website is fairly new, but it has a dedicated and rapidly-growing user base. The company has chosen the Red Cross to donate to.

"VentNation will donate half of its revenue to the Red Cross, which has been absolutely fantastic in being proactive in helping the Haitian people," said Berhane. "It is one of the world's most reputable charitable organizations, which made our decision easy. They've done a great job so far in Haiti, and we feel our money can go a long way in helping them continue to do an excellent job."

VentNation understands the importance of corporate responsibility and the necessity to help those in need. It transcends race, religion, color, or any other factors - when so many people are left in a precarious situation, VentNation believes companies should assist in relief efforts in any way possible, especially if it affects a local area. That is why VentNation is committed to helping the earthquake relief efforts and the Haitian people.

"Growing up in South Florida, and being aware of our sizeable Haitian community, the earthquake in Haiti really affected me - seeing not only the images from the island but the reaction of the Haitian community in South Florida." said Berhane. "200,000 people are dead. People don't know where their family members are. Communication is difficult. We could go on and on - these people need our help, and VentNation will do its part."

VentNation invites individuals to visit the site, RELAX, create an account, and RELATE by expressing their thoughts and feelings on this tragedy with others as a means to RELEASE frustration. That way, dialogue can be opened about how to better help the Haitian people and create a heightened interest in assisting the earthquake relief efforts.
