Harrisburg University of Science and Technology will hold a Nanobiotechnology Explorations Summer Camp from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, June 21 to July 2, 2010.
Led by Harrisburg University faculty, this camp uses lecture components, lab experiments and class discussions to provide a basic understanding of nanobiotechnology. The camp is for high school students who have completed of high school biology, algebra, or chemistry. The camp will cover topics such as nanomaterials, DNA and protein based biosensors, nanomaterials for alternative energy and environment and characterization techniques such as atomic force microscopy, electron microscopy, and fluorescence spectroscopy.
Students will gain hands-on experience in a combination of lecture-laboratory activities and in field trips to various nanobiotechnology-
