Jan. 19, 2010 - PRLog -- The world to which we have become accustomed is undergoing massive transformation. As individuals, we must understand and adapt to these changes in order to thrive. Consider:

•   One out of eight couples who married in 2008 met online.
•   26% of U.S. workers are independent contractors; that number is expected to reach 40% within 8 years.
•   A week’s worth of information in the New York Times exceeds the entire amount of information a person was likely to come across during a lifetime in the 18th century.
•   China is quickly becoming the largest English-speaking country on earth, and its economy is expected to overtake that of the United States by 2018.

The workshop will be facilitated by Julianna Greer, gerontologist, non-profit administrator, adult educator, and entrepreneur.

The keynote presenter is Soni Simpson, Ed.D., assistant professor of management at DePaul University, corporate consultant, and life coach. Following a successful career in marketing, she earned a doctorate from National Louis University in adult education with a focus on transformative learning. She also holds an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Business. Dr. Simpson has assisted corporations and individual clients achieve transformative
growth. She brings her tried and true methods to this workshop.

Panelists include Rick Nelson, corporate security consultant; Kim Shambrook, chef/owner, Bespoke Cuisine; and Tim Sandberg, vice president, Challenger, Gray and Christmas.

Lunch is included with registration. Before Jan. 20, the fee is $20 for those unemployed; $35 for those employed.  A limited number of scholarships are available for unemployed persons experiencing financial hardship.
