Jan. 19, 2010 - PRLog -- There is no better place for whale watching than Juneau, and Orca Enterprises operates Southeast Alaska's most recommended professional whale watching tours. Enjoy whale watching on their comfortable, mammal friendly jet boats and leave the crowds behind.  TRAVELNATION takes you on a fantastic whale watching eco tour with the renowned Captain Larry.  With 40 years experience as a boat captain and 17 years of whale watching experience, he will take you on the once in lifetime experience of whale whispering.
ALASKA WHALE WATCHING in the last frontier, land of the midnight sun, northern lights, glaciers calving into pristine waters, grizzly bears feasting on wild salmon, otters frolicking in kelp beds, eagles soaring overhead, humpback whales, and orca (the killer whale) feeding and playing in quiet inlets.  Their personalized whale watching tour style and high-speed boat allows out stopping, observing and photographing whales, orca, and other marine mammals in their natural environment, while safely and comfortably enjoying the rugged Alaskan scenery.

The vessel features fully enclosed, heated cabins with fantastic viewing from every seat. The open rear deck and upper level observation areas are perfect for those who prefer to be outside. And then the moment we were hoping for. A Humpback mother and her Calve approach the boat as I am outside on the rear deck. The Calve seems to want to show off and breaches out of the water several times. We miss the first breach and hope for another. We are not disappointed and capture this amazing display of nature. This behavior is said to be engaged in for several reasons, one of which is social, in this case maybe to show off to us. A truly unique experience and one that every Whale watcher can only hope for. Then it engages in Spy hopping, some believe this behavior allows the humpback whale to get a better look at activity going on above the surface.  Watching this spectacle gives you an adrenaline rush that cannot be described. Looks like Capt. Larry is the real deal and he told the Whales ahead of time of our arrival. What a show and what a tour.
