Functional Hair Cloning Transplant Still Far from Clinical Use

Jan. 6, 2010 - PRLog -- The possibility of hair cloning transplant as an alternative to currently available hair restoration solutions such as hair transplant surgery and medical treatment has yet to become a reality, at least within the next few years.

Dr. Robert Elliot of the Pacific Hair Institute, one of the world's most experienced physicians in the treatment of hair loss, developed an idea for hair cloning in 1998, based on the fact that there are two types of stem cells which cause hair to grow.
