ABC Shark Tank Star to Judge Young Inventor Competition

Kevin Harrington, infomercial pioneer will judge inventions made by Tampa Bay area students on February 11th at MOSI's Science Works Theater.

Jan. 5, 2010 - PRLog -- Kevin Harrington, one of the stars on ABC's hit show "Shark Tank" will judge the finalists for the USF Young Innovator competition on February 11th at MOSI's Science Works Theater.  Harrington joins a number of other judges including USF Vice President of Research and Innovation Dr. Karen Holbrook, Assistant Vice President for Research Valerie McDevitt, Bright House Networks spokesperson and former-anchor Jennifer Holloway, EASA Software CEO Dr. Sebastian Dewhurst and LEDNovation CEO Israel Morejon.  The top inventors will take home $1,000 for themselves and another $1,000 for their school.

The deadline for submission of new inventions is January 27, 2010.  The contest is open to all elementary and middle school students in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, Manatee, Pasco, Hernando, Sarasota and Citrus Counties.  Finalists will be selected February 1, 2010.  Finalist presentation will take place a MOSI at 6:00 PM on February 11, 2010.  Contest rules and applications are available at http://www.innovationexpress.org or through the school districts.
