Get Real, The Real Estate Investing Show for the Rest of Us is finishing the year off by helping real estate investors get ready for 2010. The real estate markets seem to change on a daily basis and the successful real estate investor will need to keep up with the changes in the coming year to profit from the market.
Judson Voss and Allison McArthur provide three things every real estate investor needs to know for 2010. The first item was making sure investors are capitalizing on the ever growing foreclosure market by understanding the REO (Real Estate Owned) homes market. The hosts explained that investors need to be a part of this market by enlisting the help of Realtors that specialize in REO properties.
The second tip was to take on the harsh mortgage market by finding and partnering with private money lenders and private credit partners. By utilizing retirement funds from other people and their credit it creates a larger pool of investment dollars for investors to capitalize on the foreclosure market.
Lastly Allison explained that real estate investors and Realtors alike need to identify the opportunities in the first time homebuyer’s tax credit program. This program will run out on April 30th, 2010. Investors need to mobilize their efforts immediately to creatively market to these buyers and move inventory. This can even include creative closing options such as land contracts and owner financed real estate deals.
