Dec. 12, 2009 - PRLog -- LEXINGTON, VA, DECEMBER :  Close your eyes for a moment…now imagine over 2,500 plastic milk jugs heaped atop one another on the most coveted campsite, or the best picnic site in the park.  What if I told you those milk jugs were there because the landfill was overflowing and there was nowhere else to put them?  You would probably be upset – after all, how can you set up camp or enjoy a family picnic in the park with milk jugs rolling everywhere?!

What would the campground or park look like if instead of loose milk jugs rolling everywhere, we could take those milk jugs and recycle them somehow?  Well stop imagining!!!  Those 2,500 plastic milk jugs can be recycled into a beautiful and low-maintenance picnic table.  Yep, you heard correctly…over 2,500 milk jugs are saved from being dumped into our landfills by recycling them into one picnic table!

Think of the environmental impact made if the local park or campground replaced all the picnic tables (and park benches and trash receptacles) with recycled plastic!  A campground that has 15 camping sites can save over 68,000 milk jugs from clogging up the landfill.  That’s a lot of milk!

Recycled plastic picnic tables have the added benefit of not only helping to save the environment, but they are so long lasting there won’t be a need for a replacement picnic table for many years.  These picnic tables won’t crack, splinter, or peel and are so low-maintenance that it’s possible to “set and forget” them.  With a variety of vibrant colors available, the park or campground can customize these picnic tables to truly stand out.

So drink your morning coffee with milk, eat your cereal and then feel comfortable putting your milk jugs in the recycle bin because you know those jugs will be recycled into that beautiful picnic table you’ll be using at your next family gathering in the park.
