In Touch Massage & Day Spa Donates $4,500 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation

The spa’s first annual Crop for the Cure event brought together women from all walks of life who want to find a cure for breast cancer.

Nov. 30, 2009 - PRLog -- Thousand Oaks, CA – In Touch Massage & Day Spa announced today its donation of $4,500 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. On November 14th, the spa hosted its first annual Crop for the Cure event to increase awareness about breast cancer, honor those affected by the disease and to raise money to find a cure.

An avid scrapbooker herself, In Touch Massage & Day Spa owner, Shannah Tenner wanted to create an event that had all of the elements of a good scrap-a-thon while adding a few surprises. Each participant received 12 hours of scrapbooking, a six-foot individual workspace, brunch, dinner, snacks, drinks, dessert, and gift bags that included more than $75 worth of spa gifts and scrapbooking supplies.

Prizes given away were Hanky Panky gift boxes, Plush knee socks, a personal class at Paper Source, 300 free prints from Hooper Camera, Skin2Skin skin care kit, Neulash eyelash conditioners, PJ Salvage silk chemise, a bottle of Sarah Horowitz parfume, a Stampin' Up gift basket, Be Blessed scrapbook supplies, goodie-bags stuffed full of scrapbook supplies from Treasured Memories, bath bombs from Moon's Harvest, Therapearl hot/cold eye masks, Herban moisturizing shea balms, Whiter Image Chic-Flic teeth whitening pens, Justin Blair Co. moisturizing socks, foot scrub and foot balm and VK Lip Seduction lip glosses.  

In Touch’s licensed and trained massage therapist, Jessica Bakey gave 15-minute chair massages and donated 100% of her fees to Susan G. Komen. Dianna Morris, licensed nail technician, performed spa pedicures while participants worked on their scrapbooks. Jennifer Mackie, wine expert, surprised everyone with a complimentary tasting; pouring samples from local Southern California wineries.

Co-sponsors of the event included Treasured Memories, Café Sportif, and lifestyle trends expert, Romy Schorr of www.RomyRaves.com.
