A renowned Atlanta wedding planner has pulled off one of the most unique wedding events in the nation. Beginning at 8:00am Saturday, November 14th, and going non-stop through 12:01am Monday morning, November 16th, Sylvia Wayfer-Clark, owner of "Weddings by Stephanie Marie" successfully coordinated 40 non-stop, 1-hour weddings and receptions for 40 couples that signed up to participate in this extraordinary event. The event combined two causes... (1) Helping couples have a wedding and reception that may have been beyond their reach in today’s economic environment, and (2) raising funds and needed household items for the Atlanta Children's Shelter.
While the concept of fundraising isn’t new, “40-40-40 for the children” breaks new ground in fundraiser events. Specifically, “40-40-40”
Sylvia has been in the wedding industry for over 15 years, has coordinated hundreds of weddings and events, and is the founder and national chair of the National Association of Certified Wedding Day Coordinators. The unique nature of this ambitious event is evident in the local and national media coverage given by the major television and cable networks.
She adds, “I have always been involved in programs and charities that benefit children, and this event gave me the opportunity to not only assist in a small way, but raise awareness on a national level the issue of homeless children and families that have suffered misfortunes or abuse.
