Columbus, Ohio (September 17th, 2009) – Author Lavita Stokes has released a new title “A Father's Love: A Story of Reflection”. The anticipated self published memoir marks the beginning of a campaign promoting fatherhood and family values.
"It's time to put the Father back in the family" said Lavita Stokes, mother of four and vice president of Three Leaf Productions, Inc. Lavita is an award winning volunteer and mentor throughout greater metropolitan Columbus, Ohio. “More and more in society we are seeing fatherless children; many causes include abuse, neglect, or just plain abandonment. I was inspired to write my book because I want children that must share this experience to know they are not alone.”

A Father's Love is a combination memoir and self help book, with inspirational poetry collected by men and women who express their feelings towards fatherhood, or a lack there of. The book is designed to immerse the reader into Lavita's own personal story, which many readers will relate to. The stories shared create a painted picture into the life of a woman who has used the lack of a father's presence and the pain it caused in her childhood to mold her adult life, free of the emotional roadblocks that some with a similar past might face. The book also creates a map for mothers and father's regarding parenthood and the importance of the presence of each parent, focusing on fathers.

The book is intended to create an open dialogue amongst a demographic most effected by the subject matter. The author's intent is to inspire fathers to love their children and give insight to the effects of a fatherless childhood from a woman's point of view.

The novel is a large part of a campaign that has inspired a documentary regarding the subject matter. The A Father's Love campaign will be touring the country promoting the open dialogue between men and women, and facing an issue that has effected thousands for generations. The project is in full support of the Columbus Urban League's Father 2 Father program. This  is a  program that assist fathers ages 16-35 in Franklin County to become nurturing and supportive men. The fathers entering the program graduate from parenting classes, are provided with resources and information for fathers on many levels. 10% of A Father's Love book sales will go towards the Father 2 Father program.
