P B Swammich Designs, a Houston based greeting card company, has launched a new initiative called “Greetings for Good”. Debbie Lundeen, founder of P B Swammich Designs, has announced that a portion of all sales will be designated for charitable giving. Currently the focus is Boys and Girls Country of Houston, a home for children from families in crisis. Through Dec. 31, 2009, 50% of all retail Christmas card sales, 20% of all other on-line retail sales, and 10% of wholesale sales will be donated to Boys and Girls Country of Houston.
Founded in April 2009, P B Swammich Designs creates earthy, positive greeting and note cards designed to motivate and inspire. Although a chemical engineer by training, founder Debbie Lundeen has always enjoyed her creative side. Mother of 3, she and her husband David and family have lived in several countries around the world. Combining her interest in photography and travel with her love for positive and encouraging words, P B Swammich Designs was born.
But what was the origin of the name, P B Swammich? Growing up, peanut butter sandwiches were always high on Debbie’s list of comfort foods. Add to that her youngest son, Roy. When he was two, the word “sandwich”
Debbie takes great pride in her work, from design to choice of paper and printing. Anything printed after September 1, 2009 is printed on FSC certified environmentally responsible paper (approximately 60% recycled content) with vegetable-based inks. Envelopes are made from 100% recycled paper.
Debbie hopes that her greeting cards can make a difference, both to the recipients of the cards and the charities that will be supported. She is sure that the world would be a better place if everyone would lead with positive words rather than negative. Her dream is to make people feel better “one peanut budder swammich at a time.”
