Oct. 23, 2009 - PRLog -- After establishing its new Volkswagen dealership in Mumbai, India, Volkswagen India announced on Oct. 21 that it will expand the number of VW dealers in India from 25 to 40 by the end of this year. The expansion will place VW dealers in the Indian cities of Indore, Jalandhar, Bhopal, Vijayawada and Kozhikode which will complement the ones in Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Noida, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Cochin, Ahmedabad, Goa, Kolkata, Lucknow, Pune and Surat.

In order to assure customers the best pre and post sales experience, each new VW dealer will be extensively trained in management of VW sales, VW service, spare VW parts, and VW business systems. Volkswagen India said that the expansion falls in line with their strategy to establish a presence across the entire country. By doing this, they can expand their base of Volkswagen Passat and Volkswagen Jetta owners while also delivering the Volkswagen Polo to a wider consumer base.

Volkswagen India sold 1,566 vehicles in 2008, increasing that number by almost 43% in 2009 to 2,233 vehicles (as of September). They expect to sell over 3,000 vehicles by the end of this year.
