ApogeeInvent now provides human translation to enable clients to communicate with the Spanish-speaking population in the United States and beyond. ApogeeInvent, an enterprise development firm and trusted resource for direct online marketing, will now ensure its clients reach a larger audience through Spanish language Web site development.  

Claire LaPoma, ApogeeInvent’s Spanish Translation Specialist, believes human translation has a large advantage over the translation software many companies currently use. "Translation Web sites can understand the text, but not the context,” LaPoma said. “They aren’t able to differentiate between the two dozen distinct dialects that exist throughout the Spanish-speaking world, nor complex phrases. This can lead to some seriously strange-sounding sentences. We want professional web content to sound intelligible and fluent."

There are an estimated 452.5 million Spanish speakers worldwide, according to Spanishseo.org. To effectively communicate with this diverse population, LaPoma has spent a combined three years working and studying abroad in Ecuador, Peru, Mexico and Spain. She holds a B.A. in Spanish and Journalism, and has been translating for six years. The United States has the second largest Hispanic population worldwide after Mexico, reaching 46.9 million on July 1, 2008, according to the US Census Bureau.
