Oct. 15, 2009 - PRLog -- [ATLANTA, GA] 100 Black Men of America, Inc. recently launched new social networking sites as tools for communicating the international nonprofit organization’s missions, goals and upcoming events to its membership, mentees, Collegiate 100 members, stakeholders, and more globally.

“Social networking sites have allowed the 100 and organizations around the globe to connect and communicate ideas and values in a new and exciting way,” said Al Dotson, Jr., Chairman of the Board, 100 Black Men of America, Inc. “Through these online platforms, the 100 is using the unparalleled potential of the internet to share our message and positively impact the lives of youth, adults and families as we Mentor Across a Lifetime."

“One of the most unique aspects of mentoring the 100 way is that we understand the importance of sustained efforts and of exchanging information.  The mentor and the mentee learn from each other.  Tools such as these social networking sites were introduced to many of the 100’s members through their mentees,” added Chairman Dotson. “It’s exciting to know that we have another tool to sustain the mentor/mentee relationship and to remain in touch, on a real time basis with the hundreds of thousands of young people and others who participate annually in our programs, activities and events.”

And true to the 100’s belief that mentoring breeds opportunities, the social network sites were created and managed by a Collegiate 100 mentee and Morehouse College graduate, Jovanie Harris.  Young Mr. Harris recently launched a social networking business to assist nonprofits, businesses and individuals in communicating messages through various online platforms. "It is quite an honor for me to give back to the organization that gave me so much. I am helping the 100 Black Men of America continuing its successful mentoring programs and they are helping me expand my business acumen," said Harris. 'It is just like the 100 Black Men to provide such an awesome opportunity to me. I continue to thank the 100 for believing in me," Harris remarked.
