Vernon Mayer has been working feverishly in his woodworking shop to design a lineup of artisan cutting boards that is sure to please the most demanding chef or kitchen designer.
Mayer creates his cutting boards by selecting only the finest domestic hardwoods, and combining contrasting colors for artistic effect. Then, each board is carefully designed, individually crafted, and hand sanded to a level of buttery smoothness that makes you want to keep it in your hands all day! Then, to preserve the beauty and protect the wood, each cutting board is treated with multiple layers of a special food-safe oil and wax finish that enhances the contrasting colors and luster, while serving trays get multiple coats of hand rubbed oil and poly.
You are going to love slicing, chopping and serving on Vern's cutting boards, as they are truly a piece of fine art that you can incorporate into your daily kitchen routine. Each board if carefully hand crafted, one at a time, then hand sanded to a silky surface. You can renew the finish with mineral oil, or vegetable oil if you wash it regularly (If not washed regularly, vegetable oil will go rancid over time). Mayer recommends that you do your cutting on one side, and serve/display on the other to maintain the beauty of the board.
