Asiana Ltd Optimises Online Sales with New IT Network

Asiana deploys centralised network from TFM Networks to improve payment processing and online order handling and boost customer service

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Sep 24, 2009 – Asiana Ltd, a leading importer and distributor of all-Asian foods, has deployed a centralised IT network to optimise its online sales operations, order handling and payment processing.

The network has improved communications across the company’s four sites, optimising its UK operations and ensuring a more streamlined business process from sales processing through to logistics and delivery.

The solution from network operator TFM Networks centralises all business applications and runs all voice and data comms between sites.  The network also provides Asiana with a dependent connection for all time-critical orders received through its online EPoS store, helping to meet customer requirements and further boost service levels.

Network reliability was a key issue for Asiana, and the advantage of the TFM Internet VPN solution is that it is a business-only network, ensuring Asiana has the bandwidth it needs to guarantee timely order processing and prompt distribution.

TFM Networks also worked closely with Asiana to help lower its operational costs.  The reliability of the new network is saving the company an estimated £1000 per year in administration time, and the existing hardware was reused to lower the cost of migration even further.

Ashish Sinha, IT manager at Asiana said: “Switching to TFM’s new network has given us a more reliable and faster connection, access to the latest technology and an IT infrastructure we can rely on for all our business processes.

“We have been working with TFM Networks for four years, and plan to continue working closely with them to further reduce our operational overheads and improve business processes over our IT network.”

Brett Rowe, sales and marketing director at TFM Networks added: “As all of Asiana’s customer orders are made online it is crucial for their business that they have reliable web access 24 hours a day. Our new network ensures staff have instant access to information from any location, for a more efficient sales process. We hope Asiana’s customers will enjoy the faster more reliable services.”

TFM’s broadband platform ensures a resilient and robust network and IT services by operating across diversely routed, fully redundant Points of Presence, offering resilient capacity and no single point of failure.  It also offers 24/7 hardware replacement from a four-hour response as well as business continuity options such as 3G rapid deploy, back-up services on LLU platforms and off-site storage systems, to guarantee network performance and recovery in any scenario.

Working with TFM, Asiana Ltd had the flexibility to tailor the network to support its specific operating and support requirements.  Asiana plans to roll the network out to two new sites within the next two years and continue to update the network as new technology becomes available.
