Artistic Work of David Derr Helps to Promote Race Music

Sept. 10, 2009 - PRLog -- MORRISTOWN, NJ—Internationally-exhibited artist David Derr of D2 Studios currently has a variety of his work on display in conjunction with the popular Off Broadway play Race Music.  The show examines race relations in a Midwestern city in the 1990’s and is running at The Beckett Theater in Manhattan through September 19.

Race Music is an offering of the Diverse City Theater Company for whom Mr. Derr serves as creative director.  In that role, he has created distinctive posters, programs and Internet ads for the show.  He also developed the logo that DCT uses as an umbrella element for all its productions.

Mr. Derr works in a wide cross section of artistic modes including traditional and digital painting, mixed media, and assemblages and photography.  His works have recently been displayed at The 2nd International Festival of NanoArt in Stuttgart, Germany; European Council of International Schools in Nice, France; and Art Expo in New York City.

Mr. Derr has won numerous awards including: the Adobe Digital Imaging Competition, Int'l. Digital Mural Competition and NY Art Director's Club.  His works have been featured in Gallery and Studio Magazine, Photoshop User, and Digital Fine Arts Magazine as well as numerous online exhibitions and websites.  He studied at The Art Students League in New York City.
