FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PR Log (Press Release) –
Sep 02, 2009 – A new Casual Online Game, the Open Virtual World Project is about to hit the street. The Open Virtual World project (OVW) uses the Web as its playground. The 3D avatar world with messaging and game features builds upon a successful idea. The team got 3 million users and many awards for it's previous project.
The Open Virtual World project is an initiative of Daniel Kurtius, game designer, Flash developer and creative director. Before he started OVW, he was user interface and game designer of weblin: Kurtius: "we regard the Internet as the biggest virtual world of all and we want to bring it to life with avatars, chat, and virtual goods." Now Dr. Heiner Wolf, founder, CTO and chief scientist of weblin joins the Open Virtual World project. Dr. Wolf left weblin in February 2009, at a time, when weblin counted more than 3 million users from 200 countries. "The Open Virtual World project combines avatar-worlds with the Web. It opens new exciting opportunities for casual online games", says Wolf. The OVW project wins with Dr. Wolf an experienced software architect, developer, and entrepreneur. Kurtius and Wolf are a proven team. They already developed the roadmap for weblin together. OVW relies on open standards like OpenID and XMPP (Jabber). The project plans to release a software for Windows, Mac and Linux soon. The project's timeline is available at the project blog: http://openvirtualworld.blogspot.com. The blog also has show cases, prototypes, technical detail, and a community space. # # # About Open Virtual World Project
