A victim of abuse, Shea sought the ring as a means to cope and worked her way to becoming one of the top female boxers in the world Shea is highly recognized for her work in training Hillary Swank for her award-winning portrayal of a boxer in Million Dollar Baby. She was also nominated by PETA in 2008 for Sexiest Vegetarian and is actively working as a motivational and spiritual speaker.
