Darkfield Laser
Logitech has come up with a brand new tracking technology for your trusty computer mouse. They call it Darkfield Laser Technology and it makes it possible to use your mouse on any surface.
Darkfield Laser technology from Logitech renders the need for a mouse mat obsolete. If you buy one of the new mice from Logitech, you can use it on any surface - even clear glass (at least 4 mm thick). The Darkfield Laser technology can detect microscopic particles or scrathes on the surface or even inside clear glass, where an ordinary mouse would rely on much more defined textures, such as on a mouse mat.
Since the Darkfield Laser technology is brand new, it is still not perfected and therefor it is not yet reliable enough for just any use. If you use a darkfield laser mouse on glass for example, it still cannot handle very rapid movements in which case you are better of with a regular laser mouse for fast paced computer games.
Logitech has released two Darkfield Laser mice: Performance Mouse MX for desktops and Anywhere Mouse MX for laptops. Both mice are wireless and feature hyper-fast scrolling, making it easier to navigate large documents.
