Rails Hosting Leader, Blue Box Group, Acquires Rails Boxcar

PR Log (Press Release) – Aug 12, 2009 – Blue Box Group, a leading ruby on rails hosting provider, today announced that it has acquired "Rails Boxcar", a web hosting product and service from Planet Argon LLC, a design, development, and deployment agency based in Portland, Oregon. In addition to taking over the management and support of all existing Rails Boxcar customers, Blue Box Group will use intellectual property and technology assets from the acquisition to provide Blue Box Group customers with new tools for hosting Ruby on Rails based web applications. This acquisition will offer Blue Box Group customers with simplified rails deployment technologies, and give Rails Boxcar customers access to a leader in customer service and customized hosting solutions.

Planet Argon has been providing design, development and hosting services to the Ruby on Rails community for over four years. Planet Argon sees the sale of its "Rails Boxcar" service as a strategic decision, choosing to place more focused attention on design and development, including work on a number of in-house web-based products. Planet Argon solicited bids and proposals from regional competitors for the acquisition of Rails Boxcar, their web hosting solution for Ruby on Rails applications, which was launched in the summer of 2007.
