Akadema Inc a baseball and softball equipment manufacturer has made a sizeable equipment donation to support The Summer Rivalry Baseball Classic Tournament. Akadema has donated all the wood bats, uniform tops and gift bag items for all the participants in the showcase. The event will be held in Massachusetts at Bentley College on August 12th and 13th and at Boston’s Fenway Park on August 16th 2009. Proceeds for the event will be distributed to the American Heart Association and Individual Scholarship Awards. “We are proud to be associated with A and M Yastrzemski Events” says Lawrence Gilligan, President of Akadema. “This is a great cause and we hope to raise a lot of money for the American Heart Association from this event”
The mission of the tournament is to donate to the American Heart Association to help find a cure for heart disease, and to keep alive the hopes and dreams of young New England high school baseball players. The Summer Rivalry Event will provide them the opportunity to be seen and evaluated by professional coaches and scouts in order to advance their potential at the college level and beyond.
Four teams will be selected and personally coached by the professional scouts in the field. Each player will play three games at Bentley College, and have an opportunity to be chosen to play in the All Star event, which will be played at Boston’s Fenway Park on August 16, 2009.
Ray Fagnant (area Red Sox scout) will select the All Star teams for the Red Sox team and Matt Hyde (area New York Yankee scout) will announce the selected players for the Yankees team.
In support of this event, sponsorship opportunities are available with advertising space in the program booklet, on the corporate business banner, and/or with website advertising. We also have two-day booth rental space at Bentley College.
The Summer Rivalry Baseball Classic Tournament is being hosted by the A and M Yastrzemski Events LLC.
