Smokie Whippet & The Bandits ride into town

The launch of a new children's book by award winning writer and illustrator Patricia Senior. This is the first in a series of children's adventure books featuring Smokie Whippet and his pals - there's another 10 in the series.

July 23, 2009 - PRLog -- Smokie and his four-legged family plan a party with the food left on the worktops for tea. Hilarity ensues until Claws the cat gatecrashes the party with disastrous consequences.
In subsquent books Pat Senior tells a great story to support her wonderful illustrations.
On their outing up Daffodil Hill, Smokie and the Bandits find buried treasure. Their excitement is short lived as the burglar who stole it chases them.
Little Lucy whippet falls behind as she cannot run as fast as the others, so Moppy runs to Lucy’s aid and bites the burglar’s leg to slow him down.  Can they get home without the burglar catching them?
A day out at the seaside becomes a nightmare when Smokie and the Bandits sail the high seas. Can they escape from their cabin before the ship’s mate makes them walk the plank?
Smokie and the Bandits run for cover at the Haunted Mansion as ghosts lurk around every corner. Lucy hides under the chair as a ghost drifts towards her, Will she be able to get out in time?
A day at the fair turns into a rescue mission when travellers steal Daisy and her foal Brandy.
Smokie and the Bandits discover more than they bargained for whilst on holiday at Waterfoot Bay.



Pat Senior is an award wining artist/illustrator and writer of many children’s books. She currently resides in Blackrod near Bolton with an assortment of old greyhounds; lurchers and other breeds, which she accumulated through her dog rescue. Pat’s passion for writing began at an early age and after adopting a blue whippet called Smokie, she decided to write amusing stories about his escapades with his four legged friends.
Pat has been commissioned by the Lowry to do three huge murals for a children’s walk in centre in Salford, and is currently working on murals for children’s schools in the Manchester area.
She is a professional singer and often uses her talent by recording CD’s to raise money for one of her local charities ‘Paws for Kids’ who help women, children and their pets escape domestic violence.
   Pat’s finger is firmly pressed on the entertainment button and guarantees that you will have hours of fun  reading the amazing stories of  Smokie Whippet and The Bandits.
