Stress definition is said to be “a normal physiological response of the body to situations or stimulus which are perceived as 'dangerous' to the body.” Many of us would find it very difficult to define stress. Dealing with stress can affect just about anyone at anytime and when stress problems show its ugly face it can cause harm to your body.

How do people find ways to overcome their high stress level? We are program to tackle any danger our mind thinks will hurt our body. Our hormones are always ready to defend us. This is how stress begins. There is usually an event or events that your mind realized it will need more energy so your body can fight it. Once that’s realized the body starts working overtime to create glucose and oxygen.

Stress hormones are so powerful that it detracts a person from reality. Your personality changes and it affects how you interact with your friends and co-workers. Stress can create many of life‘s problems such as, anger, mood swings, verbal abuse and irritability. However, there are ways a person can have a stress management program. In my opinion, daily exercise of the body, positive affirmation of the mind, communication with a good friend and going to church can all have positive effect when trying to relief stress.

If you are not able to control stress, it can cause some irreversible physiological damages. Some of these long term damages are: headache, mood swing, substance abuse, weight loss, stroke, weight gain, and sleepless nights.

Personal stress can have deadly results. The article on stressfocus.com said researcher have found over 95 % of all sickness are stress related. With that type of statistic a person who feels stressed out should have great urgency to ensure this malady can be eradicated fast? However, there is good stress and there is bad stress.

“In 1908, psychologists Robert Yerkes and J.D. Dodson developed the Yerkes-Dodson Law. In simple terms, it states that a person's performance improves as pressure increases because stress-related hormones, such as epinephrine and norepineprhine, improve a person's concentration.” An article by Michele Meiche Coping said “Stress propels us in life; it is a motivating factor.

Stress symptoms are the initiative that allows us to accomplish tasks, set goals, and create projects. In this way, we can say there is good stress and bad stress. Negative, or bad, stress is actually called distress because it connotes a strain, or too much demand on the body or mind. This distress can be caused by, or exasperated in times of loss, transition, and change.”

When our body sense Stress activities, it creates a normal physiological response of the body to situations or stimulus which is perceived as dangerous. Some level of stress can be very dangerous for us and cause great harm to our well-being if we do not mange our life style. However, managing stress levels that are good for us can help us reach height we would not be able to reach with out them.
