South Caroilna Illustrator Becomes Children's Book Author

July 14, 2009 - PRLog -- Mobile, AL. – Chester, South Carolina native, Berry Holly has several published books under his belt as an illustrator, but now he can add published author to his résumé.  Holly’s children’s book, "Kat’s Red Ball", will be released on July 15th, according to publisher, Sweetie’s Books.

Illustrated in Holly’s signature style of vibrant colors and incredible detail, "Kat’s Red Ball" is a funny adventure story of Kat, Holly’s adorable dog, and her prized possession, a red ball.  Kat does everything with this red ball until one day it disappears.  She looks everywhere for her toy and worries that something terrible has happened to it.  She’s overjoyed and fiercely protective when the red ball is found and returned.

Holly’s background as an educator shines through in this work as the words RED and BALL appear on each page of the book, encouraging young readers to add these words to their list of sight words.  The beautiful illustrations and entertaining storyline make this a great read for the pre-school set.

About the Author:  
Berry Holly is a native and current resident of Chester, South Carolina.  After many years in Elementary Education, teaching in the public school system, Berry now devotes his time to illustrating children’s books and conducting illustration workshops.  His published works include "Sweetie’s Place:  A Moving Adventure" and "All About Aisha" both written by Dyahnne Alston, and "Micky, Ticky, Boo!  Says Hello" written by Sabra Robinson.
