BHS Senior Trace Hamilton has taken over the lead role of Roger Davis in Introspect Theatre's production of the award-winning musical, RENT being presented at the Bartlett High School Auditorium this weekend June 25, 26 & 27 at 8 pm. With only four rehearsals to prepare, Hamilton stepped in to the role of a lifetime. "I'm still in shock," said Hamilton. " I felt so luck to just be a part of this amazing show, but to be asked to step into this role is like a dream come true".
RENT opened last weekend to standing ovations and rave reviews. " A big part of the show's success is due to Hamilton," stated the shows director, Jeff Linamen. Linamen had to re-cast the role when scheduling conflicts prevented the actor originally cast from continuing with the show. The entire cast of the production is made of of Bartlett High School Alumni, recent grads and current students. The oldest being 2002 graduates, Matt Gazda and Shannon Doherty Hartnett.
RENT, written by Jonathan Larson, received the Pulitzer Prize and numerous Tony Awards. It closed recently on Broadway as the seventh longest running show. Introspect Theatre is one of the first companies in the country to be granted the rights to perform the full version of the show.
