June 17, 2009 - PRLog -- COSTA MESA, Calif.– Hawaiian Springs LLC, a premier natural water brand recognized for bottling some of the purest and most sustainable waters in the world, today announced it will be the official water of the 2009 Maui Film Festival. The annual event is dedicated to presenting great film and great film artists, events, panels and parties on one of the world’s most beautiful islands. It will take place at the Wailea Resort and the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului, Hawaii, from June 17-21, 2009.

“Motivated by our deep respect for nature, Hawaiian Springs is always looking for ways to minimize waste and preserve our local ecosystem,” said Rick Hadley, chairman and CEO of Hawaiian Springs. “We recognize Hollywood’s shared commitment to environmental protection and are honored to act as its partner for this important industry event.”

Hawaiian Springs will provide thousands of bottles of water for the festival, as well as offer 500-milliliter and 1-liter bottles at the Celestial Cinema concession stand. Twenty percent of all proceeds will be donated to various nonprofit organizations that volunteer to staff the concessions stand, including Habitat for Humanity, Surfrider Foundation, Women Helping Women and the Kamehameha School Alumni Association.

Distributed predominately in the Hawaiian Islands since 1995, Hawaiian Springs is now sold at leading health food retailers on the U.S. mainland, including Whole Foods and Mother’s Market. By capturing the Arctic rains that fall over the Big Island of Hawaii and bottling it within 30 days, Hawaiian Springs is one of the freshest waters available.

“Hawaiian Springs is the preferred bottled water among consumers throughout Hawaii,” said Barry Rivers, director of the Maui Film Festival. “We are thrilled to have the state’s signature, ‘homegrown’ water as one of our chief sponsors.”

This year’s film festival will open on June 17 with the premiere of Highwater, a highly acclaimed surf film created by Dana Brown (Step into Liquid, Dust to Glory), at the open-air Celestial Cinema. The festival will close with the screening of More than a Game on Sunday, June 21. Other films being screened at various distinctive venues include Hawai’i 3D, a 20-minute underwater film exploring Hawaii’s coral reefs and flourishing wildlife; DIRT! The Movie, a film narrated by Jamie Lee Curtis that takes a unique look at people and the soil they tread; and Rock Prophecies, a rock-and-roll film featuring live action footage and rare early images of legendary guitar heroes including Jeff Beck, Carlos Santana and Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin.

Festival passes and special event tickets are now available. For admission information, additional venue details and a complete list of films, contact the Maui Film Festival headquarters at 808-572-3456 or visit www.mauifilmfestival.com.

About Hawaiian Springs LLC
Hawaiian Springs began bottling its young, natural artesian water in February 1995. In the years that followed, the water—which comes from the extraordinary Big Island of Hawaii—has achieved distribution throughout all the islands, making it Hawaii's favorite local water. Drawn from an artesian well at the base of Mauna Loa, Hawaiian Springs bottles its water at the source, directly from the aquifer to its bottling facility. Freshness, purity and a naturally sweet taste distinguish Hawaiian Springs from other waters. Hawaiian Springs is sold by leading health food stores such as Whole Foods and Mother’s Market.
