PRLog - June 16, 2009 - PHOENIX -- Metal Music Promotions proudly announce both Hemoptysis and Back From Ashes have been chosen to receive awards at this year's 2009 Phoenix Music Awards, hosted in Los Angeles. Hemoptysis (Metal Band of the Year) and Back From Ashes (Modern Rock Band of the Year) will be on hand to receive their awards in L.A. on November 12, 2009.
The Phoenix Music Awards, Los Angeles Music Awards, and the Hollywood F.A.M.E. Awards announced the formation of their Advisory Panel of Grammy Award winning producers and engineers, earlier this year. These multi-platinum producers are a direct part of area live events year round. Included on this panel are David Kershenbaum (Duran Duran, Joe Jackson, Janet Jackson), Ron Nevison (Led Zeppelin, The Who, Heart), Jack Douglas (Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Cheap Trick), and Greg Ladanyi (Don Henley, Foreigner, Toto)
Artists chosen to receive an award from the Phoenix Music Awards are evaluated by event producers and advisory board members before being selected. The selection process is based on the quality of recorded work submitted or seen at a live music venue in Arizona. Each recipient must also be in good standing as members of the international independent music community.
Hemoptysis, who have been chosen Metal Band of the Year, are riding high off the success of their debut release, 'Who Needs A Shepherd?'. Back From Ashes, dubbed Modern Rock Band of the Year, also receive critical praise for their self titled EP. Both bands continue to pummel the masses with powerful, adrenaline-based live performances.
